My 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom not restart when hot?

When I stop for gas or for a break on a hot day, my bike can not be restarted, and it seems a dead battery or a main fuse. After sitting for a while, which seems to be well and starts up. This problem I have not travel much because they do not want to be caught somewhere. Any Ideas?
