Buying my first bike, looking at a Harley?
Well I’ve finally gotten to the point in my life where I can buy a bike. I’m looking mainly at Harley Davidson’s and have narrowed it down to a few, namely: 1985 Sportster 1000, 2008 Sportster 833 Low, 2007 Sportster Nightster. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on these bikes, and which would be good for driving around town and taking trips on two-lane highways. (Not too excited about riding on the four-lane). Thanks!

If you want a harley, that’s ok. But don’t buy the older harley. You wont enjoy having to fix it all the time.
In the old days sportsters were the bike, today they are beginner bikes and because of their weight, alot of women enjoy them also. The 883 and the nightster are both sportsters and would be great beginner bikes. They don’t however hold resale value very well. Now that’s actually good news for you , see you should buy a 2 to 3 year old low mile sportster. You can get it at about half price and sell it for about the same a year or 2 later if you decide riding is for you and you want a bigger bike.
