keys are universal ?
i just found out about keys, gas cap keys are most all the same. harley davidsons have the same keys and houses have like 20 different keys. and there is only like 3 signals for garage door openers. why even bother then ? you can open your neighbors stuff easily. so why is this ?

That’s just not true…don’t know where you got your information but it’s wrong.
Garage doors, as an example usually have anywhere from 7 to 15 “dip switches” AND, they vary in the band they operate in by manufacturer.
It can sometimes happen that they are set the same but it’s very rare.
Keys are even more different – Toyota, by example, publishes that the chances of an ignition/door keey being the same is 1 in 145 – that means that your key would fit another 145 cars IN THE WORLD – the odds of that being in the place where you parked are massive.
