How much horsepower does an unmodified 2008 Honda VTX1300 have?
I have a 2008 Honda VTX1300R. I know the displacement is 80.06 cubic inches and that it is actually 1312 cc. I’m pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that it had 85 hp, but now I can’t find it anywhere. I was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night who has a 2007 Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide. He has had a bunch of work done to his bike and actually just had it dyna tuned and the computer read it as having an output of 85 hp. He’s pretty sure that my bike does not have 85 hp. I’d like to prove him wrong. I weigh 260 Lbs and my bike has no problem whatsoever hauling my big frame around. In fifth gear going up a hill at 120kms/hr I crank on the throttle and boost her up to 150kms with plenty more power waiting to respond.
Honda VTX 1300 S features a motor engineered as a 1312 cc, liquid cooled, 52° v-twin. The motor has a bore and stroke of 89.5 mm x 104.3 mm, and has a compression ratio of 9.2:1. The engine cranks out a total of 74 horsepower.
