New Harley Davidson Owner, going for a ride today, how should I dress?
I just got a used 1200 Sportster last week, never got a good chance to ride it much due to the bad weather, but today’s forecast looks great, sunny, high in the 70′s.
I have a shinny black skull cap and old style sunglasses, but I have a red and white riding jacket, and green gloves, do you think the jacket and gloves will clash?
I want to look like a tough guy and I want all the babes to notice me and when i ride past them I want them to think “oh wow, that guy is hot”
I have blue jeans and a white tee shirt, what about the 50′s Jimmy Dean look?
Congratulations, you bought yourself the perfect motorcycle for all your fashion needs. But don’t get too creative, the harley crowd likes to pretty much all stay within certain leather pirate fashion parameters. Don’t be surprised if you are scolded on the green gloves and questioned on the lack of assless chaps.
As you can see by the other answers, it really isn’t permitted to talk about fashion, you are supposed to talk about the different years and models of harleys and about bike accessories and upgrades, and just know from the harley catalog what clothes to wear. Its cool to be all about fashion, just not cool to ask about it.
