Willie’s Pub in Columbia, MO refused to serve my husband because he had on biker clothes – is this legal?
The young man at the door told us they would not seat us because my husband’s shirt was “cut-off”. The shirt was brand new from Harley Davidson, the sleeves were completed hemmed, no holes and not dirty. I pointed out the young man that it was in fact seamed and he asked us to leave and said they would not serve us.
Almost everyone young man in that pub had on a t-shirt and jeans; this is not a “dress-up” restaurant. Only diffence was his said “Harley Davidson”.
For the record, we had not been drinking.
They can have a dress code.Some places require shirt and tie.They also have the right to refuse to serve anyone.although its not a good practice…Does your newspaper offer a SPOUT OFF section?for you to write a comment about it so others and can read and not go there?
I would write editorial and spout off comment …my experience is with that most people will get pissed off and no one goes then they have to shut their doors.
The name states PUB…who would’ve thought you had to dress up there…
