harley davidson softail oil change
i want to change the engine oil and gear box oil to Harley Davidson softail 1340cc 1999?

i would like to know the amounts of oil to be used to service the engine and gearbox to harley davidson softail 1340cc 1999
also how do i measure the level of the oil hot or cold and to what level any other advice is most welcome

Rider is correct. You should buy a service manual. Your Softail holds 3 quarts of oil, the transmission holds 20- 24oz and the primary holds 1 quart. To check the engine oil, warm up engine ( a 5 minute ride will do), hold bike upright and level, push in dipstick all of the way then pull it out and check level. Trans can be cold, have a friend hold bike upright, set dipstick on the threads, remove to check. Between marks on both sticks is good. Hope this helps.
