how do I install a new clutch cable on a 2003 Harley Davidson Softail standard?

I am installing a new clutch cable on my bike and need some help, does anyone know any websites that shows detailed pics and step by step instructions

No but i can tell you how.You need to drain the tranny oil out(the drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission ).Then slid the rubber boot down on the middle of the cable ,loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster in.Then remove the snap ring on the clutch lever pivot pin and remove the pin.Take the cable out of the hand lever.Next remove the tranny side cover.For the next step you need a good quality pair of snap ring pliers.Where the cable hooks up you’ll see the release arm.You need to remove that big snap ring so you can get the release ramp and balls out.BE CAREFUL!!!!! That snap ring is heavy duty and can hurt you if you let it get away.Take note of where the gap in the snap ring is.You want to put it back in the same spot.Remove the cable off the release arm.Unscrew the cable out of the cover.Now the best way to install the new cable is to tape the bottom of the new one to the top of the old one.This makes sure you route the cable correctly.Pull the old cable out while feeding the new one in.Use a new O ring on the cable where it screws into the cover.Re assemble in the reverse order.Make sure the 3 balls are in their grooves.Use a new cover gasket and torque the cover nuts to 85 to 105 INCH pounds(about 8 foot pounds should be fine).After it’s all hooked back up turn the cable adjuster out to remove the free play at the lever.Squeeze the clutch lever 3 times fully to seat the balls in the ramps.Then set the free play at 1/16 to 1/8 inches.Tighten the locknut on the adjuster.Don’t forget to put oil back in the tranny.I recommend Redline Heavy Shockproof synthetic.Great stuff for a Harley transmission.This sounds involved but really it’s very simple.You’ll see how it works when you get the cover off.The toughest part is dealing with that big snap ring in there.Once again BE CAREFUL!!!
