I found a tachometer on ebay that says it should fit my bike but I want to make sure?

I have a 1999 Sportster 1200XlC. I also like How to install the tachometer. Do not need a new wiring harness? Or simply plug into my existing one? Also my bike from now on only without tachometer has a speedometer so any and all information would be appreciated installation.
