info on harley davidson sportster?

Having trouble down shifting more than one gear . After I down shift one gear I have to lift up on gear shifter to catch the next gear down.Does not matter where I am in the shift pattern.Already changed fluid. H.D. 883 with 2000 miles. help
Oh, it is a 2003. Even though it only has 2000 miles it is no longer under warranty.
I have taken it to the dealership when the problem first occurred. They said they fixed it..but in all actuality it isn’t fixed.

There is a pawl that has to be centered over the shift detente, yours is out of adjustment. There is an allen head screw that adjusts it, but if you’ve got 2000 miles then take it by the dealership and they’ll do it for free.
