Is the Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 a good quality bike that will last long and give me good power? Why?

– Yes
“That will last long?”
– Yes, as long as you do regular maintainance.
“And give me good power?”
– It will give you adequate power. Many of the people who buy the 883 Sportsters either convert the engines to 1200cc or trade them in on a more powerful bike. With the Sportster trade-in that Harley is running right now the 883 Iron might be a good bike to get and ride for a while and if you decide that you want a bigger or more powerful bike you can trade it in on a Big Twin.
Harley’s are good bikes, and the Sportsters are great for what they were designed for. The people who call them ‘girls” bikes are typically tools and RUBs who really don’t know much about motorcycles. They often think that because their “garage art” cost more money it gives them the right to disrespect someone who owns a more affordable bike. The Sportsters have a higher center of gravity than some of the big twins and many of the women who buy Harleys choose the big twins over the Sportsters because of the lower seat height and center of gravity. Many of the Sportsters will beat a big twin in a race. Many of the Bonneville land speed records were set by Sportsters. Sonny Barger rode a Sportster, Evil Knievel rode a Sportster, Sportsters have been kickin @$$ at the track since 1957 and IMO they’re a decent bike. The Iron looks nice but if I were to buy one I would buy it with a 1200 conversion in mind.
