how much oil do i put in oil tank on Harley Davidson Sportster 1200?
its a custom and the oil tank is under the seat and the cap has no dip stick .should the tank be closer to full than empty? is there low level switches that keeps them from starting?cause it just clicks when trying to start it and i charged the battery full.but the oil tank is probably 15% full .not that much for the tank size.
can i jump it off with car battery and jumper cables? my battery charger has 50 amp quick start, can use that to start if it is the battery?

For the recent models with the rubber-mounted engines, it’s 3.6 quarts including the filter. Generally you will need to fill the tank to the line on the dipstick, then run the engine for a few minutes, and then re-check and fill the tank again to the “full” line on the dipstick. This is typical for any engine using a dry sump system as the Harley does.
