Harley Davidson election?
I'm buying a new bike 2009 HD in April or May …. Now I have to figure out just what … I'm stuck between the street glide on the radio and passenger comfort and i Softail Custom … I love the old helicopter new look for her … so I'm looking for decisions about what and why … Thanks for looking and your time. I do live in Milwaukee and work in Milwaukee, but have to drive every day Waukegan IL
Well Danny, here is my story of what it's worth. In 2007, after having 30 or more parameters, I decided to buy a Harley and see what all the fuss was about. I bought a 2007 FLSTN Softail Deluxe and absolutely love it. I am a broker for many years and I do not know if I like the bike, but I did not doubt. After him for about 16 months I thought to go to the most popular model of HD, the slip roads. I bought a new Street Glide 2009 and was a beautiful bike was also the most uncomfortable bike I've ridden in my entire life. (Yes, I should have rented one before you buy) I sold the bike after 2 months of hate life. I am a very experienced pilot, about 180 and 5'8 ". The position of the bar on this bike has me around my shoulders to reach them. This caused a almost unbearable pain in the back. When I started reading the forums looking for the cure that I learn that the only real solution is bars. With the cost of the bars and work was about $ 1000. I know it sounds a lot, but there is a huge amount of work removing all the fairing, not to mention the cables must be replaced by high bars. Please rent or borrow before buying and SG sure to make a long trip well in it to see if you have the same issue. Oh, one more thing. Al bars replace the integrated mirrors are useless because the bars are in the way of them, with what you're looking to buy bar-mounted mirrors also and if you remove the fairing mounted you are left with two ugly holes in the fairing.
