Pins and patches on leather jacket?

Hey everyone. I have a leather jacket that I wear when I ride my Harley. I see a lot of people put pins and patches on leather vests, however I am not too big with the whole vest thing right now. Would it be normal to start putting patches and pins on my leather coat, or should I leave it plain? Also, where should I start putting the pins and patches? Thanks.

hmmm…maybe one big patch on the back of leather jacket would be cool. or one on each sleeve. but i wouldn’t cover the entire jacket with patches. show off your leather!
