Why is Softail Evo engine battery is not charging my Harley and I ride?
Have a Harley Davidson 1992 with an engine of evolution. My battery falling. There is nothing left on. It is as if you are not carrying a backup as I ride. Is there an alternator or magazine or generation? In the case? How I can check to see if the problem is? THANK YOU ALL!
It has an alternator / regulator. The rotor and stator within the main behind the clutch. The regulator is the aluminum heat-sync between the tubes under the front of the bike. The black wire on the regulator goes to the switch. Check the continuity of that thread. Also check the cables and connections in the controller. There is also a ground wire on the controller. make sure you have a good clean connection to the structure. Unplug the regulator on the engine. Connect a test light of 12 volts to ground and touch the probe to the controller terminals one by one. If the pilot test to replace the regulator. The remaining tests charging system is more complicated, but the charging system on that bike is not too difficult to work. If the battery and the regulator are good, and all connections are clean, get a factory service manual the dealer or eBay. By the way Nate His bike is 17 years old and is still riding.
