Oil recommendations for high definition?
I have an '08 Softail Custom. I'll do the same service to save money. The problem is that I keep getting conflicting information on what oil should I use that brand is not high definition. The nearest dealer is a couple hundred miles away. You must be 20w50 synthetic. Of course Harley is telling me nothing but his trademark because the oil can be used in transmission the main chain and the crankcase. But I'm also getting into account that Mobil 1 V-Twin is as good if not better for all 3. I do not want to spoil and ruin a perfectly good bike. Any advice?
20/50 Do you want to continue (make sure IS FOR V-TWIN MOTORCYCLES CAR …. NOT OIL !!!!)…… also can run the same primary oil / trans. Here's the answer to a similar question … although it has a Big Twin reefernce ….. the concept is the same though ….. how much I love HD …. I hate to say it, but H does not know SH * T on synthetic oil. For decades, they said not to run synthetics in their engines ….. due to demand popular by the public, HD, finally came out with synthetic oil SYN3 several years, but not honest it sucks. 3 SYNTHETIC BEST ARE # 1 HARLEY AMSOIL, # 2-LUCAS, # 3 Mobil 1 (which is recommended by S & S). I've been working in high definition and construction of high performance engines, drag racing and test setting for 20 years and have been running Amsoil for years but recently changed to Lucas, since it is so good, but a little cheaper. AND NOT AND DO NOT CANCEL THE INITIAL WARRANTY ……… RUN NO HD SYN3 ….. GARBAGE IS ……… I am a certified HD technology, and I tell you FIRST HAND …. HD NOT KNOW ABOUT JACK OIL !!!!!!!!! To deacdes, HD, synthetic never said to run their engines, their reason …. bearings will skate "……… Ask anyone but the drag strip running a top fuel engine of 800 HP which are ……. SYNTHETIC TOTAL ……. directed not to skate! On demand popular groups, HD finally released SYN3 back in the early 2000's …… manufactured by Sunoco. SO …….. …… Secondly, why want to go longer between oil changes ?…… esprcially on an Ultra, packers are subject to a motor voltage than the other models due to weight, in addition to operating at a temperature of not more as the flow of AIE, so have a larger oil tank to aid in cooling. FRESH OIL IS SAFE CHEAPER AGAINST THE FAILURE OF THE ENGINE. Standard Oil must be changed every 2500 miles. You can go about 3500 on synthetic, but why? PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE Scheduled established by the factory is based in 2500 miles is best to change the oil every 2500 miles …. SYN or sexually transmitted diseases. Keeping up on maintenance, avoid major breakdowns. It btter to spend $ 400 or so a couple of times a year to spend a few thousand to repair something that was caused by lack of maintenance. As the others have said, synthetic running the engine of your refrigerator and lubricates much better than standard oil. The best synthesis to run is: 1) AMSOIL or LUCAS 2) Mobil 1 It's OK to run the same in the primary synthetic as does the engine ……. but NEVER use the same oil from the trans. HD says you can, but does the trans hard to change and loud …… minimum of 75/90 gear oil better …… If your hands absolute 85/140……the transporting the oil to down market RED LINE is complete 85/140…it shockproof plastic that transport will run smoother, quieter and easier travel.
