The differences between the saddlebags Softail Heritage Classic and the Kings Road?
I'm saving for a Harley and it's probably going to be one of them. I like the Heritage saddlebags appearances much more, but I hear they are easy to steal, and sink relatively quickly. So I looked in the Classic RK (I hear is a better ride) it has leather saddlebags as well, but I heard they are a hard case with leather over them, so they are more favorable and more difficult to get the bike. Is this true? or Did I hear wrong? I'm collecting these for their style of bag, only it is more practical than an average cruise, but not quite at the Electra as a sliding top.
Never had a problem with anyone steal anything off my bike, panniers or not. That said, the RK has hard bags (such as fiber glass) are wrapped in leather. These are my favorite bags. If I had an RK, I definitely would opt for the bags. They are great looking and keep their shape. I've dealt regular leather bags before. I do not think that I will never go down that road again. As for taking the bag on or off, based on what I've seen, I would say that is definitely RK easier to take off. However, that does not mean that someone will steal their handbags. My dad has an Ultra Classic and I do not think the average person even know how take the bags out. In terms of ride quality, the RK is a touring bike and a cruiser ST. The RK will have a better ride … but what fun is that?
