Harley 883 Iron Sportster or a Kawasaki 900 Custom?

I’m not sure which one to get. I have done a lot of research on both and I really don’t see a difference besides one being american and one being japanese. I need a little help.

I have had both a Kawasaki Custom and a Harley Sportster. The Kaw sits more like a Harley softtail. That means you’ll sit lower on the bike. It also has a lower center of gravity. The Sportster is more “Sporty”. It takes corners better than the Kaw. The Kaw is water cooled the Harley is air cooled. They both have a decent aftermarket following. Both are fuel injected and both have belt final drive.The Kaw is about 60# heavier and the seat is 2″ higher than the Harley. The torque is only about 3ft/lbs difference between the 2.

As far as the Harley being louder, Not true. My Kaw had straight pipes and my Harley had Python IIs. The Kaw was very much louder. Aftermarket parts for both bikes cost about the same.

It really come down to a mater of personal choice and which one you can get a better deal on.
