Motorcycle build help.?
After much research and test rides, I have decided a Harley Sportster is the best bike for me considering the power I am after and comfort. If I had the money, I would buy an 883 right now. I don’t want the 1200. I am interested to know if it is possible to build a sportster copy. Are the parts made/available? There are many TV shows showing people building custom choppers from parts, but you never see these builders making plain bikes. I am not interested in building something bigger than the 883 and I could care less that it says Harley all over it. Have any of you ever tried this? Any feedback (at least constructive) is welcome. Thanks.
You can do it, but it will not be cost productive. There are not many manufactures who reproduce an 883 engine. You would be a lot better off buying a used 883 and rebuilding it to your style.
