how much should i offer on a 1991 harley sporster 883?
Hey a local woman is selling a 1991 harley sportster 883 (duh) and has no asking price!! What should we offer? I’ve done some browsing this bike’s asking price is anywhere from $2500-$5000! I was thinking more like $1200 TOPS but im new to the bike scene and def can’t quote a price tag on anything. This is for my wife she just got her license but no bike.
A lot of the older sportsters have charging problems..Recently spent 1200 on parts to fix the charging problem on my 1988 sportster. I believe the 91 tranny is a 5 speed and the rotor is different. I would stay away from any old Harley…..period. You can’t imagine what I have gone through. Paid $1100 for the bike and thought I just had to finish putting it back together. Now I have close to $7000 in it. Was able to ride it after just investing 2000 in it, but it has been one thing after another. If you are buying an older Harley thinking you are saving money …you are probably going to get burnt.
After saying that….blue book value on the bike in great condition isn’t over 3500
